film review- In the Valley of Elah

Emily Sanders: And so David went down into the valley to challenge Goliath...
David Sanders: D’you think he was scared Mom?
Emily Sanders: Yes. I think he was scared.
’In the Valley of Elah’ is a film about a former US sergeant who works with a police detective to uncover the truth behind his son’s disappearance following his son’s return from a tour of duty in Iraq. This is not a movie about the heroism of soldiers sent to war, and it is not simply another patriotic American war film. Instead it is based on a true story, highlighting the horror of war, the cruelty of war and depths of human nature. This is not another war film played out on the PlayStation. This convincing portrayal of barbarity makes ‘In the Valley of Elah’.
